The Crucible
- Fixed an issue where earned Perk Points would be lost after leaving and relaunching Age of Empires IV.
Note: We are still investigating reports of specific instances where Masteries do not complete as expected, or do not reward the correct number of Perk Points.
Bugfixes
General Changes and Bugfixes
- Fixed a new regularly occurring crash related to physics when Aging Up right after damaging a building.
- Fixed an issue where Art of War trophies (Challenge Taker, Precious Medals, and Record Breaker) would not unlock despite the requirements being met.
Variant Civilization Changes
While we have additional balance changes coming soon, we noticed a substantial enough amount of feedback regarding the Worker Elephant that we’ve made some changes in this patch to get started on improvements.
- Worker Elephant:
- preview can no longer block projectiles.
- Worker Elephants can no longer spawn from incomplete structures that produce Worker Elephants.

- If you’re still experiencing a crash on launch on Steam following this update, please reach out to support and attempt to download Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2022 from the Visual Studio website. We are thrilled to see the various strategies you have all uncovered so far with the new content in Dynasties of the East. In addition to important bug fixes, our balance team is preparing adjustments by taking a hard look at issues from overpowered units to underused strategies.
